Three Chicagoland branches, hundreds of finished projects, one craft. We diamond-grind every slab, install five coating system families, and stand behind the work with a written warranty. 5.0 on Google across three offices.
Same-week on-site visits
Concrete Shield Coatings Inc. is a Chicago-area concrete floor coating contractor. We don't lay tile, we don't pour concrete, we don't do general remodeling — coatings is the craft and we install five system families (polyurea/polyaspartic, epoxy, solid color, quartz broadcast, metallic epoxy) across residential garages, basements, patios, pool decks, salons, warehouses and parking structures.
We operate from three Chicagoland branches — Northbrook covering the North Shore, Lombard covering the western suburbs and the city, and Mundelein covering Lake County and the northwest. Every project is run by our own crew, gets diamond-ground prep, and ships with a written, project-specific warranty.

We don't do general remodeling, tile or new concrete pours — concrete floor coatings is the only thing we install. That's why every crew, every truck and every estimate is tuned for the same craft.

Three service categories, one specialty. Whether it's a one-car garage in Northbrook, an outdoor patio in Lombard or a 12,000-sq-ft distribution warehouse in Mundelein — we install the same five system families, just tuned to the slab.
Most of our work is residential — garages, basements and laundry rooms across Chicago homes. Polyurea/polyaspartic for cold and active garages, epoxy with polyaspartic topcoat for basements (over a moisture-barrier primer), metallic epoxy for finished basements that want a statement floor:
Salons, spas, warehouses, mechanic shops, parking structures and retail. We phase installs around your hours — overnight starts, weekend installs and lane-by-lane scheduling so the business keeps running:
Patios and pool decks where UV stability and slip resistance matter most. Always finished with a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat that won't yellow in the sun — and quartz broadcast on pool decks for ASTM slip resistance under bare feet:
Three offices, one company, same crew standards. Each branch covers a roughly 50-mile service radius, so most of Chicagoland is within one branch's territory.

We recently had our laundry room floor done with epoxy, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Professional, punctual, and clearly experienced. They took the time to properly prepare the surface, which really shows in the final outcome. The finish is smooth, durable, and looks absolutely amazing.
Laundry Room · EpoxyThe basement and steps were done beautifully — clean, smooth, and very professional. The team worked efficiently and paid close attention to detail. Highly recommend.
Basement & Stairs · EpoxyThese guys are honest and do a great job. I would recommend them to anyone. They really know what they are doing.
Floor RefinishingFrom three branches (Northbrook, Lombard and Mundelein), we work across the city and the suburbs — plus select projects in southern Wisconsin and northwest Indiana.
We also travel for select projects in southern Wisconsin and northwest Indiana — contact us to discuss your location.
The same five steps on every project — residential or commercial. Honest written estimate up front, diamond-ground prep, project-specific system, polyaspartic topcoat, and a written warranty at handover.
We come to you, measure the slab, inspect concrete condition, ask how you'll use the floor, and write up a project-specific quote with system, square footage, prep work and timeline. No deposit until you sign the proposal.
We don't push one product. The recommendation is based on your slab condition, how the floor gets used, climate exposure, and your budget. Quartz for ramps and busy commercial; polyaspartic for fast turnaround and outdoors; epoxy + polyaspartic for cost-effective interior work.
Every project — residential and commercial — gets mechanically ground with diamond tooling. We don't use acid-etch shortcuts. This is the step that makes the difference between a coating that lasts 10+ years and one that peels by year two.
Cracks and joints repaired, primer applied, pigmented or quartz basecoat down, broadcast where the system calls for it, polyaspartic topcoat rolled over. We use the same install standards on a one-car garage and a 12,000-sq-ft warehouse.
We walk the finished floor with you, point out anything you should know, and hand over a written project-specific warranty plus a maintenance plan so the floor keeps looking the way it looks on day one.
Honest answers to what people ask before they hire us.
We're a Chicago-area concrete floor coating contractor with hundreds of completed residential and commercial projects across the metro. We operate from three Chicagoland branches — Northbrook, Lombard and Mundelein.
We only do concrete floor coatings — we're not a general contractor that does floors on the side.
Yes. We're an Illinois-bonded, fully insured concrete floor coating contractor with general liability and workers' comp coverage. We can provide a certificate of insurance for commercial customers, property managers and HOAs on request.
We cover the entire Chicago metro from three branches:
Northbrook — North Shore and northwest suburbs (Northbrook, Deerfield, Glenview, Evanston, Barrington, Arlington Heights, Skokie, Elgin).
Lombard — western suburbs and the city (Naperville, Wheaton, Downers Grove, Elmhurst, Oak Park, St. Charles).
Mundelein — Lake County and northwest (Vernon Hills, Libertyville, Lake Zurich, Waukegan, Gurnee).
We also travel for select projects in southern Wisconsin and northwest Indiana.
Residential: garage floors, basement floors, outdoor patios, pool decks.
Commercial: salon & spa, warehouse and industrial, parking garages, mechanic shops, retail.
We install five system families — polyurea/polyaspartic, epoxy, solid color, quartz broadcast, and metallic epoxy. We pick the system based on the slab, the use, and the budget.
Yes. Every project ships with a written, project-specific warranty matched to the system installed: limited lifetime on eligible residential garage installs, 5 years on residential basements and exterior surfaces, and 3 years on commercial floors. Full tier definitions and exclusions are in our Terms & Conditions.
Diamond grinding mechanically removes paint, sealer, mastic and weak surface material — and creates the concrete profile coatings need to bond. Acid-etching can't remove paint or thick sealer, and the residue it leaves behind is one of the top reasons DIY epoxy projects peel within a year or two.
We diamond-grind every project, residential and commercial. No shortcuts on prep.
Yes — every estimate is free and on-site. We measure the slab, look at concrete condition, ask how you'll use the floor, and write up a project-specific quote with system, square footage, prep work and timeline. No deposit until you sign the proposal.
